digipacks

i put them and their corresponding liner-notes into CD binders. the high quality ones. i've never had a problem with them. i have had issues with digipacks and digibooks though.

HA! And i thought i was the only one...

Inside Out doesn't piss me off because of their digipaks, but how often their albums have cardboard cover sleeves, making it too fat to fit in my cd rack without damaging it. What, do they expect me to throw it away? What the hell is the point in them?!?!

Oh, and The Odyssey was a big let down for me. I liked the Divine Wings, but couldn't find a single song on Od that i liked

really? i love the odyssey. ive listened to it three times in the past couple days. dont you even like the title track?

That track does have some cool parts to it. It just pisses me off that i have to skip about 7 minutes to find any of them. Id rather listen to Of Sins And Shadows 5 times though.
How worthy is V: The New Mythology Suite of getting? Im undecided whether to spend more money on Symphony X when theres so many other bands to try out...plus im cripplingly lazy of course

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that digipacks were any of the formats that have the CD tray glued into the package (usually cardboard of varying quality).

I think they are primarily used for the collectors, although many of the ones about at the moment are cheap reissues. I have not bought any of the Peaceville reissues, so cannot comment on the quality of them, but my Digi of the LFDGD Katatonia album is fine and great quality (one of the ones that folds out into a cross shape and has the lyrics and credits on the packaging).

As far as the Opeth ones go, certainly in the UK the last 2 albums were released as limited edition digipaks on the initial release. The Still Life one is the umpteenth reissue of the album by Peaceville (although I believe most of these SL issues are apparently in limited quantities). Seems that most of the ones that were in HMV were just midprice reissues.
