Dio's reign 1975 - 1984: does it outshine any decade by Maiden, Priest, etc.?

I think Accept had a killer run as well from "Restless and Wild" 1983 - "Objection Overruled" - 1993. The onlhy one I didn't like was "Eat The Heat" with the "other" vocalist.
Though not thought of immediately as "oldschool," Fates Warning has put out quality release after release for many many years and should be considered as well. Talk about a very underappreciated band. I'm not a huge fan of them, but they practically invented modern prog metal, yet they recieve few accolades for their big body of work or their great influence in modern metal music.
Of course, if you look on the Prog side, Sush could also be considered for their long run of quality releases.
