Disappointed With The Album

Actually records were around that length so that's why tapes where made that long. But it was much better when bands were writing 45 minutes of music every year rather than the 72 minutes of music every 3 years.

Blah, blah, blah.. I can't listen to it cuz of the production. That's just stupid. I bet you still listen to Slayer and Megadeth and everything else from the 80s. The production on those albums stink (not too mention the medium of choice when they were released was casette tape). EoR aint even close to that bad.

Well you lost that bet! Stupid is assuming stuff like this.....

The production's not that bad. Not as good as Dead Heart but it's not terrible.
You could have great production and still put out a shitty CD. Check out Megadeth's Risk! Fucking horrible piece of shit!
I was in Guitar Center the other day and they were actually playing that cheesy mess!

Make yourself feel better... go listen to St. Anger for a while, then come back to EoR. You'll see the brilliance in the production of EoR after having to listen to the mess know as Sucktallica! It'll make EoR sound like QR's 'Empire' production. ...anyway, I couldn't listen to a cd constantly (and I mean approx 10 hrs a day plus it's on repeat while I sleep) since it was released if the production was all that bad. It's a 'straight up the middle' mix I'm not thrilled about, but it has a good live, raw sound. ...and for those saying they can't hear the bass or the drums, stay off the bottle long enough to sober up. I would prefer a more 'pounding' bass drum and bass, but again, it's not bad at all...
please wipe the tears and move on. I'd love to start some threads discussing the individual songs and their individual brilliance, but it seems as though there wouldn't be much interest in that aspect of the album

Make yourselft at home and discuss it. I don't have any interest in the matter simply because I didn't find the album as good, and I'm just wondering why.

Tomorrow Turned Into Yesterday is a great song, though.. Everything else just needs time to grow on me...

Shellshock - actually I wasn't speaking to your original 'thread starter', I was speaking to the other pointless "the production sucks" replies. Your initial thread starter never trashed EoR, it just questioned their choices on production (without actually bashing the prod), and stated your opinion that you prefer other NM over EoR. I'd have to agree with your 'questioning' of the production (not saying it's bad, just saying I prefer the superior prod of DHiaDW... I actually believe EoR sounds better than a few of their other cds). You explained what you thought about EoR and that's cool by me. It's the pointless "this sucks, that sucks" replies/threads I was directed at. When I get a chance, I'll have to start threads picking apart each song per your suggestion.

I thought production sucks too, when i heard EOR for the first time, but now,I KNOW I was wrong, becouse it wouldnt sound so fucking full of energy and it just wouldn´t be as good as it gets the more times you listen to it

I think the new album lacked the emotional impact that Dreaming Neon Black had, there were songs on that album that could give you serious coldsweats.
But it seems to have been replaced by pointless guitar masturbation on this new album.
And the production doesn't allow much of Dane's charismatic voice to be heard either.
I didn't like it...

I've just listened to DHiaDW a few times (first since I bought EoR), and I'd have to say the production is awesome on DHiaDW, but it wouldn't fit the feel of EoR. EoR is a sick, raw feel. That feeling fits the songs perfectly. I just think with the direction EoR is in, the production fits. It has a raw, live sound. DHiaDW is a bit more polished. EoR is a dirty, sick, raw cd. I didn't see that in DHiaDW. I love DHiaDW (along with all of the NM cds). It's just different, just as all of their cds have been.
Too bad the American public would rather buy junk metal than good, thought provoking music such as NM.

Listening to all the Nevermore albums I own, PoE, DHiaDW, Eor, the Enemies is the best of the bunch IMO, the guitar work is impeccable, I hate seven string wankablity, but on this album the seven string didn't sound bad because Loomis actually did something with it, instead of that fucking BAAAAAAW! sound that I usually associate with seven strings, I here very technical thrash and great solos.

About the production, besides Warrel's vox being a little low and Loomis' solos being a little high in the mix, the production really isn't that bad, it isn't good, but it could've been worsr with a douche like Gray.
