Do you believe in dog?

Also, if you think your bird requires attention, then you'll think getting a parrot is like having a child, they are in your face almost all the time and you need to be home lots cuz they can go insane if they are locked up all the time and will pick their feathers (more common than you'd think). Fortunately we treat our bird like a baby and he's always with us. They are also much smarter than you'd think before you get one. Ours is so aware of us and our motives, he plots things, hides, disguises his activities with objects, he uses tools, it's just insane. He thinks he's a person and I'm not so sure he's wrong

Whackiness, I never thought parrothood would be so intense :)

I now understand birds more. Someday I will move up in size, and thanks for the advice.

Right now, I think our cockatiel is awesome. Ours sounds like the opposite of yours, and more like a parrot. I never dreamed that a bird could be so manipulative. More human characteristics than I ever thought possible.

I believe in Dog, the Pet almighty,
creator of warm and cosy home.
I believe in Puppy, his only Cub, our Friend.
He was conceived by the power of the Horny Rut
and born of the bitch Doggie.
He suffered under Canis Lupus,
was adopted, grew, and was loved.
He descended into disease.
On the third day he rose again.
He yearned for outdoors,
and is now seated at the right hand of the Owner.
He will come again to lick
the faces of the boys and the girls.

I love dogs! The ones we have (Leo and Dino, like Hearse mentioned) are wonderful, as is the loud, simple parrot Popeye. Although sometimes irritating, they've given us all a good deal of laughs, the parrot especially. One time she was eating a cactus which has mescaline or something, and she went totally crazy, strutting on the floor and attacking the dogs' tails, carrying their bones in her beak and making funny sounds, taking wing and landing on the dogs' back..
