Now that the new album St. Anger is coming i was wondering is there people here that still have hope in the band.

1. The cover was made by pushhead (...and justice for all) and all the skulls made in the 80´s and 90´s.
2. The album is track over 70 minutes with 11 songs some of them are faster than "Batery"
3. The album will have a bonus DVD with all the tracks performed live as a regular CD price.
4. They have Robert Trujillo as a bass player.

They need to put a solid record in this one after the Load Reload era. With this kind of news I still have hope in the band.

What do you folks think?

I'm definitely buying it...they are still one of my favorite bands as far as music goes. I'm just quite disappointed in the bands they chose to go on tour with.

NP: My Dying Bride-Into the Lake of Ghosts

I wasn't too sure about them anymore, then I watched all the studio videos on their site, and saw how they've totally changed their attitudes and are honestly excited about what they're making. So even if their definitions of "ultra heavy", "sick", etc probably don't match up to mine, I'm still betting it'll turn out well.

Why you judge the book by his cover? Lets wait and see whats coming...people like you are so stupid....

I haven't seen the cover ;)

It's just my prediction, I'll give it a listen. It'll have to be quite good for me to buy it though. Just cause I make a prediction you don't like, I'm stupid? A bit defensive aren't we?

Metallica's old stuff is classic but I can't bring myself to listen to it anymore. Metallica isn't a band anymore, they're a business. I continued to like them even after Load came out but once Reload came out, then the Napster debacle I started to lose interest in them and respect. Touring with Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park is the nail in the coffin for me. No, I won't be listening to St. Anger but I might burn a copy and send it to Lars for his birthday.

I probably won't buy it, unless of course I like the first single which will certainly be played on the radio sometime soon.

I will definitely give it a chance. I'll probably download a song or 2 if it leaks before June 10th. If I like what I hear, then, I'll buy it without question.

They're the band that got me into metal, and they deserve a chance.

i have a feeling its gonna suck. big time. like their last few records. even the black album isnt that great.

oh and replicator, dont ask for peoples opinions on something if all you are gonna do is call them stupid for having an opinion. if you dont want ppl to say what they think, you shouldnt ask about it.

I'll probably give it a listen. No way in hell am I gonna buy it though. Not after the whole Napster fiasco. I'll most definitely burn off a copy, if for nothing else, just out of spite.

I don't think it's gonna sound like Linkin Park or Limp Biskit though. Even though they're sharing the bill with those chumps.

It'll probably sound only marginally better than everything else on the mainstream radio, which isn't saying much.

I'm listening to some demo's right now. Some are obvious fakes, but there's a few that are most definitely Jamez on vocals.

Valley of Misery sounds neat. I hope they don't go with this vocal track though. It's got some neat melodies, but the delivery is just TERRIBLE. They'll probably scrap this take. It's definitely a rough mix. The levels are all screwed up. Good overall sound though. This song sounds a bit like a hard rock version of an Irish folk song. Weird.

Heard some snippets of other stuff. I'm hopeful. They sound somewhat promising.

Will any of this stuff sound anywhere near as cool as an Opeth album??? BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!! Not no, but HELL NO.

VALLEY of MISERY is not a Metallica song!
