Why you judge the book by his cover? Lets wait and see whats coming...people like you are so stupid....

Ok, here is a question; why do you ask for our opinions, and then comment on how "stupid" [people] like us are when we give it...?

Are you just pissed because we fisagree with you and already gave up on them? I will also say that the album is probably going to suck, and even if it doesn't, I will NEVER let them have one red cent from my pocket.

Fuck Lars and his crappy band. I will burn it, but that is it. Even if it sucks, I will still burn it in defience of that asshole.

Richest corporation of a band on Earth, "we need to feed our families too".... What a joke.

It'll take alot to convince me this isn't just a business decision to make some heavier, thrashier stuff. Think about it... they know a lot of their core fans are turning on them, so why not crank out some thrashier stuff and then hype it up to make your record sales even bigger, by rekindling the interest of fans that may have "gone astray." And hopefully, Kirk will lay off the wah pedal a little bit this time... the Enter Sandman solo was atrocious, as well as many others.

If I want to listen to some good thrashy metal with awesome leads, I'll pop in Rust In Peace.

Right on, dude!!!

No, I don't "believe" in the sense that I take them seriously as artists, but I do believe they can still put out some entertaining (but not moving) music, so I'll give it a listen. IMO they peaked long ago with Puppets and Justice, the Black was hit or miss for me, but I appreciate what they accomplished. I don't think they "sold out" so much as they stopped growing musically and failed to mature; instead it's like they became *more* adolescent, simplistic, and cheesy with age. Most of the 80's thrash bands IMO did *better* than Metallica in developing or at least maintaining, but I'll always give them a chance since they were the absolute kings in their day.

Now bands like Opeth are king.

face the facts, its probably going to blow. did you hear that 25 second clip they posted? its stupid as hell. i mean why would you post a 25 second clip and thats it? at least post like a few minutes of a song, or something. so 5 years, and we get a 25 second clip that sounds stupid anyway.

they said some songs are faster than battery eh?
i'll bet they also said "this album is going to be so heavy!!!1"
yeah... thats funny.
this comming from the same people who said in their own fan club magazine that Reload was a "return to their roots".

hahahahahaha ok.

talk is cheap.
i'll give the album a listen, but they really need it to be good to bring back the old fans.

I'm definately going to buy it. I consider myself a true fan of Metallica and they deserve my support and money!

i used to think that too...when i was 16.
now that i've sold off all my metallica stuff, i still make money off of them.
i shouldn't say how, but lets just say that i've made more than my money back from them. they don't deserve shit. selling shirts at their shows for like $30-$35 for a short sleeve.
tickets to their shows are always a rip off. how much is it to join their fan club now? it was $30 when i was in it in 96. now its like 55? something like that? destroying napster which was responsible for getting me into 90% of the bands i listen to and support now? fuck that. i don't want them to have a dime of my money.

Damn right I'm looking forward to St. Anger. I hope it's not Slipknot clonage though.. I want something that sounds like Metallica.

The first 4 Metallica albums are really great, all with their own style, Black was eh, and then, christ. I think James is still a great musician, Kirk is the most overrated guitarist ever, Lars can't even play the stuff he wrote 10 years ago anymore, and obviously no one will ever touch Cliff Burton. So no, I don't. I will burn it and hand out copies to my friends though.

I'll probally download the album and then realize that it was yet another attempt to screw over the old fans again. I definately have a feeling that this album is not going to stray from the "nu" Metallica sound than we hope it would. I mean why would Metallica want to dissapoint their largest fanbase, the people who jumped on the bandwagon when Load and Reload were released?
