sup, new to these forums, semi new symphony x fan, wanted to just say i think the lyrics are insane. what do you guys think?

oh and do the band members ever post?

Domination

All along the waste and wild
legions of lost scream in pain
A million shattered destinies
all slowly drowning in tears of flame

Break the chains around your necks
lick your wounds you Dogs of War
Raise your banners ever high
and ravage the Babylon Whore

I, with darkest insurrection, victimize
Hail the horrors, all hail and sanctify
...my Domination

Rotting from the inside out
ripping away to the core
A million lies unite as one
slaughtering innocence for evermore

Sound the mighty drums of doom
march to this black heart of fate
Clawing, tearing, slashing deep
defiantly fighting our fate

I, with darkest insurrection, victimize
Hail the horrors, all hail and sanctify
...my Domination

Turn the waters red with rage
burn all the earth shore to shore
Open wide the Gates of Hell
defile the Babylon Whore

I, with darkest insurrection, victimize
Hail the horrors, all hail and sanctify
...my Domination
...my Domination

yea their pretty good but Im sure its Allens attack that makes it

I can only speculate the bottom line

I want to meet this Whore !

and we wonder why they only seem capable of war and barbaric nature in this area of the globe.............. dut da da :u-huh:

I once read a research piece done on the native Americans and one statement about Native spiritual stories or tales was something along the lines of - they were symbolic tales and we knew that, not things that actually occured on earth in real life

Well, any honestly good ho enjoys being ravaged and defiled... but I somehow dont think thats the point of the song. I think theres a few ideals going on in the song.

I like the lyrics to Domination. It's one of the few songs on the album that doesn't seem like it has a mythical, ancient feel to it.

I can also tell you that Set the World on Fire was actually inspired by some of Russell's friends who were laid off from their jobs (or something similar). This made him angry enough to write the lyrics. In fact, Russell has stated that a lot of Symphony X's lyrics are inspired by personal stories of his, and therefore, seem to have a double meaning.
