...
and if I can fit any gaming into this busy weekend, here are a few events that I found interesting. And yes I realize the last one is D&D 4E , but it says 'Moathouse' so I'm curious. The timeslots I may be best available are noted in BOLD RED.
:::GAMING:::
d20 Advanced: Tomb of the Three-Headed
Alpaca
System: d20 Advanced—New 3.5 Edition
Variant
Sessions: 3, 8
Cost: $3.00
GameMaster: R. Brent Palmer
Like D&D, but wish the combat system actually
resembled combat? Or just wish it stressed
hack’n’slash a little less, and roleplay a little more?
Then, let’s face it, people... 4th Edition will never
be what you’re looking for. d20 Advanced is.
It’s everything you love about D&D 3.5, but with
faster, more realistic combat! And a more fl exible,
more intuitive magic system! And those races
and classes that no one plays, like half-elves and
bards, revised and enhanced to make them worth
playing (but not engineered for munchkining)!
For Dragon*Con, we’re doing a low-level
dungeoncrawl, with a heavy emphasis on laughter
and role-play! Pre-genned characters provided, or
show up 20 minutes early to make your own; look
for a guy in a black-and-white “Cat in the Hat” hat.
See you there!
The Iron Circle: Codex of the Great Sage
System: AD&D 1st Edition
Diffi culty: Basic
Required Experience: None
Sessions: 6, 11
Duration: 4 hrs.
Cost: $3.00
GameMaster: James Gill
The Great Sage understood all too well the truth in
the old saying “Knowledge is Power.” Throughout
the course of his adult life, the Great Sage gathered
much sensitive information, uncovered many secrets
of those nefarious individuals and organizations
preferring to operate from within the shadows, and
recorded all of it within his Codex. To ensure his
life’s work would not fall into the wrong hands upon
his death, the Codex was hidden within a deadly
labyrinth in which the cowardly, weak, and foolish
would certainly perish. Now, after an exhaustive
search, you and your adventuring companions,
known collectively as The Iron Circle, a group known
for accomplishing any task undertaken, have located
the labyrinth into which the Codex was sequestered.
Are you up to the challenge? Pre-gen PCs will be
provided. Players should bring dice, a pencil, lots
of imagination and, if possible, a copy of the AD&D
Players Handbook. This adventure is dedicated to
the memory of Gary Gygax.
The War Rafts of Kron
System: Basic D&D
Sessions: 1, 4
Duration: 3 hrs.
Cost: $3.00
GameMaster: James Calloway
The lerendi princess, Corinna, has disappeared.
She set sail aboard a ship of the Minrothad
Guilds--the guild’s ships which have been pirated
and plundered for many weeks. Trade is horribly
disrupted as many ships leave, never to be seen
again. The guild masters now call for adventurers
of great skill and renown. They offer small fortunes
to any who can help them discover who is pirating
their ships. But most importantly, to any who can
rescue the princess. Characters will be provided.
The game will probably take about 6 hours over two
sessions, most likely each session will be 3 hrs with
each session ending 1 hour before the slot ends.
Classic 2-“Return to the Moathouse”
System: D&D Classic Adventure
Sessions: 4, 8, 10, 11, 13
Cost: $3.00
GameMaster: Staff
For years, the forces of Elemental Evil remained
quiet. Adventurers picked through the remains of
the moathouse again and again, each time fi nding
little more than dust and the remains of epic battles
of days long gone. Thus, you aren’t surprised that
your quarry, a murderous orc cleric of Iuz named
Tahrg Soulhammer, fl ed there when you nearly
caught him. Tahrg is intent on making a last stand,
and you are more than happy to provide him with
one. Yet, you can’t help but wonder if there’s more
here than meets the eye. Tahrg is too clever to trap
himself in a decrepit old ruin. Does the moat house
still harbor some dark evil? A 4th Edition adventure
for 5th-level characters. Create your own character
or play a pregenerated character provided.
