UK based metal heroes DRAGONFORCE have announced that their long
search for a new vocalist is finally over. After entries from
thousands of hopefuls across the globe, the band welcomes 23 year old
Marc Hudson to the band to fill the boots left by ZP Theart, who
parted ways with the band in March of last year.

“I’m really excited about being a part of the DragonForce family.”
Says Marc. “It’s always been my dream to dedicate my life to making
music. I’m going to bring all the power and emotion I can to the
songs, and help make the killer new record the fans have been waiting
for!”

Born in Oxford England, Marc was picked from the thousands of
applications via a number of impressive video auditions and live
performances, which left the rest of the band in no doubt that they’d
found their man. Since the age of 16, Marc has been building his vocal
skills gigging with bands in the UK underground scene, developing a
powerful style with influences which include Bruce Dickinson, Michael
Kiske and Sebastian Bach. Says founding member and guitarist Herman
Li:

“After almost a year of searching around the globe, it’s great to be
able to finally tell our fans the good news. Marc’s expressive and
melodic vocals are sounding phenomenal on the new songs, adding
another dimension to the DragonForce sound that I am sure all the fans
will love.”

The band has been working on a new album since early 2010, recording
in various studios in California, London and the South of France. The
follow up to 2008’s hugely successful “Ultra Beatdown” album will be
highly anticipated, with top 10 and top 20 chart positions all over
the world and a Grammy Nomination in the United States setting the
precedent. With Marc brought into the fold, the band is enjoying an
injection of enthusiasm and hunger that sees DRAGONFORCE prepared to
return more focused and determined than ever before.

“Everyone in the band is extremely excited about how the new material
is shaping up.” continues Herman. “We haven’t felt this kind of energy
in the band for a long time. We can’t wait to unleash the next
DragonForce album later this year.”

The new album is expected to hit the shelves in September, with a full
world tour to follow.

will have to see what he's like live. I don't trust videos and backing tapes anymore
I'm still unimpressed with this jackasses singing.

But yes, it seems we will be going down the road once again, you can already hear the reverb and overlaying vocal tracks on this 'demo' recording, pitiful, even at ZP's worst he was better than this guy.

Sounds like the average X-Factor/Pop Idol wannabe trying to sing power metal.
Very well put. :)

Oh DragonForce, too bad, I had high hopes for you, now I leave you in the past.

I see lots of shows with flat tuned guitars once again in DF's future.

NOTHING like zp! I'm dissapointed, this new album, coming September, is really going to be break it or make it. Let's just wait and see...

And he really does cronopio! LOL!!!

and i've already asked this but anyone got any news on zp's new project?

Btw am i the only one who think vadim looks like a hip hop dude on the pic at Dragonforce's site?:p

Nope, you're not.

The pic makes them look very nu-metallish and emo too.

I think this is a sign of things to come.

Thought the same thing, wonder what will happen to Dragonforce next...

VotD and SF are two of my fav albums, looks like there aren't going to be any more top dragonforce albums, still not going to judge too early.

Sigh.

My immediate reaction was, "Holy crap, the Dragonforce forum was actually right in their speculation" when I saw it was Marc. Then I listened to the video and realized absolutely nothing has changed about Dragonforce's sound - the same structure seems to be there, complete with bullshit lyrics. The melodies don't even seem as catchy as the old stuff.

I'll admit Marc gave a mighty impressive performance at the end, and he'll no doubt bring the quality of the band's live performances up a notch... but I can't say I'm anything but disappointed having just heard what they've come up with.

Regardless, I'll get their new album... without any high hopes for something different.

One can only speculate, what with ZP leaving for "insurmountable differences in musical opinion"

I think that was more to do with ZP wanting to do something like this , whilst judging by the video clip, the rest of the band still want to do very traditional power metal.

I can honestly say that I will not be buying this album from DragonForce without hearing it first, and I will also say that I will download it to listen to it, if it is anything but spectacular and amazing that I am enthrulled in orgasmic pleasure, I will delete it and no longer support the band monetarily.

No, that is way old, that stuff was before ZP joined DragonHeart, that band is just using "ZP" as a lure tactic to get people to check out their old demo from 1998 that had ZP as guest vocals.
