Dragonforce?

My Budgie just died...the vet says it was too much load music.... it had damaged his hearing and this had let to an unbalance. Apparently if you lose your hearing so also goes your balance, its the same for humans. The poor thing fell off his perch this morning landed on his head and knocked himself straight out....he didnt feel a thing, just dead, broke his kneck....one minute there he was and the next gone. This sounds childish I know but I put the blame squarely at the feet of "Dragonforce" as it was according to the vet...Dragonforces high pitched vocals that damaged the his hearing in the first place. I only wish I had bought Robbie Williams new CD instead.

While being a big Helloween, Gamma Ray and Blind Guardian fan, I have to admit that I can't stand Dragonforce records. I do respect them as musicians, but faster doesn't mean better to me, they rely way too much on bland speed to my taste, and their melodies don't appeal to me at all. Plus all the cheesy keyboards...

What I dislike sometimes in metal in general is that childish desire of playing harder, faster, louder, more technical, more brutal or being more evil than the other bands, not because your art needs it but just for the sake of it. It has to be "more" in order to be cool.
Still, good songwriting > "more". IMO.

Kudos to Dragonforce for believing in their music and playing their asses off though.

Dragonforce are definitely a Great band probably one of the best, If not the best....If it was like a toss up between Dragonforce and some other band...I reckon Dragonforce would win easy. :headbang:

There was more than a bit of a talk about them even in their pre-album days, but when I got ahold of their demo (for which most said it's better than the debut album) and then their album, I felt nauseous.... :bugh:
They're totally over the top and so fake I can't stand them.

Sorry, fans... ;)

I think they are alright. Especially in small doses. I'm not sure why they are getting all this promotion, but if it opens the doors for more power metal bands in the U.S. then it's great for metal in general over here.

I think they are going to do well on OzzFest. A short set will do them good. I don't think I would want to see more than 30-40 minutes from them.
