Beyond me why so many people rip on DF yet try and rally support for other bands with virtually no reason other than citing that they're too popular or not very good. There are a dozen other bands doing much worse than DF out there who get props simply because they haven't achieved anything. What a fucking joke. Let me know when everyone here can play/write something good enough to catapult them into even the most temporary limelight that DF is in... If SX were to land a "big" hit like DF had, as least in the confines of the metal community, we'd see fans dropping like flies based on the worst criteria at all. Yikes, things are getting scary with some of you all.

Hears why I dont like Dragonfarce. I was cruising around amazon one night searching for other bands I might like. Which is the same way I found SX and a few other great bands. Amazon has links like "people that bought _ _ _ have also purchased _ _ _ ", then they also have lists. I was led to power metal, symphonic metal and others sub genres from progressive metal. For some reason toward the end of our land line hookup before we got high speed I could no longer play samples. Well all the reviews on Dragonfarce raved how these guys were so great and lighting fast, so I figured it would be pretty interesting to check them out. One day in a music store I stumbled on their "Inhuman Rampage" so I threw down the money and brought the CD home and put it in. I wasnt one minute into the first song before I knew something was drastically wrong. The guitars and keys sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks and the drums were inhumanly fast. I stood there in disbelieve that not one person in the "reviews" mentioned this. I turned the computer on and reread all the reviews while the CD keep playing. By this time I noticed how everysong also sounded the same. I was pissed off that such shit musicians would pull this shit on the public and worse yet established a huge fan base of blind fainting sheep fanbois. I have given this CD two full listenens and both times it has left me in awe.... so their awesome alright

It's strange though that despite them supposedly being so fast, that Marty Friedman, who hasn't really been into shred lately, beat them in playing hammer-ons and pull-offs in Marty's show a while back.

I am going to copy paste what I just said to some fan of dragonforce on jemsite:
The video is playing their songs, and I count 6 songs that sound almost exactly the same with different lyrics. I never liked DragonForce, they are vastly over-rated, and their music is boring, and now this only proves to me that they have little to no originality by just re-making the same songs over and over.
They are very generic power metal with just faster solos. The lyrical content is the same as many other bands lyrical content, and at least the other bands don't continuously blast beat, and fall over on stage and make fools of themselves by being drunk a lot of the time. It is very hard to take that band seriously and to think that they are doing things for the music, because right now all I think is that they are on the money wagon.
