Not sure if it was mentioned here, but:

Posted 04/15/2010 on DT's site:

Dream Theater will be doing a few select headlining shows on some of the days off throughout the Iron Maiden tour.

Please note these will not be traditional DT shows in terms of production...as it is in the midst of the Maiden tour, we are not carrying our usual lighting and video show...so instead these will be small intimate club shows...just like the good(?) 'ol days!

So come sweat it out with us.....

June 21, Roseland Theater, Portland, OR (On sale 4/23)
Special Guests:
Presto Ballet

July 2, Newport Music Hall, Columbus, OH (On sale 4/24)
Special Guests:
BEATALLICA

July 10, Palladium, Worcester, MA (On sale 4/16)
Special Guests:
CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED
(featuring Richard Christy and Ripper Owens)"

As much as I haven't enjoyed recent DT shows and albums too, I'm thinking it would be pretty killer seeing them in a small venue on a small stage, while standing too!

Wonder what kind of stuff they'll be playing? Would be awesome to go back to some of the older stuff!

Too bad one of these aren't in IL or WI. I would love to see them in a more intimate setting. Very interesting though that Beatallica are opening for them in the OH show.

I'm probably skipping this due to the $40 ticket (Worcester). To me $40 and up is Rush or King Crimson-level money. $30 is where I'd cap it off for a band like DT.

Definitely going to the Columbus show. I was complaining big time that they never played central Ohio or Detroit on the "Black Clouds" tour....

Can't wait to see what they put together for a set list. Should be a very interesting show.

I take it you probably haven't seen Dream Theater in years then. Their tickets are never less than $30.

+12345

First DT show for me was back in 2001 for $31, followed by:

35
39
39.50

This shows costing $48 after all the "fees" are added...

Expensive? Yes. But it's gonna be neat seeing them in a smaller venue.

I really don't wanna see another complaint due to the ticket prices over there. When you start paying $120 for tickets to see DT like you do here, then you can complain. You lot don't know how good you have it.

Rush at TD Garden will be in the $135 range, good luck with that.

I still have a Permanent Waves Tour ticket stub, $8.50

I did pick up a pair for Dream Theater in Worcester.

Maiden was looking for July 10th in MA but Mansfield was already booked.

Either you haven't been to a concert in 10 years, or you're completely out of your mind.

Example? Last time I saw Dream Theater, tickets were in the $80+.

Last time I wanted to see Rush, tickets were over $90.

I wonder where you're getting your numbers from, 'cause they don't make sense anywhere in the world.

I'm surprised at some of the prices people are citing. Of the three DT shows I've been to, the only unusually expensive one was Gigantour at $50. Otherwise they were all under $40, and all of them have been within the past decade.

Paying a lot of money for Rush is fine with me. It's RUSH! Also I've only seen them once previously and am about ready for another one.

$40 is too high a price for DT to command, especially in 2010. That's my opinion. Of course, I might still decide to go. I'm still a fan, but it would be the most I pay for a ticket so far and definitely the most I've paid for a show at this Worcester venue (I save my ticket stubs and just referred to them. Only one is $35; the majority are under $30).
