Every time I hear Derek Roddy talk I think he's some amish teen who escaped during Rumspringa. Nice selection of drummers though. Marco always looks overly happy.

The video is really well made and entertaining, but I think it´s kinda lame that they´re turning an audition into a "reality show".

By the way, Aquiles Priester?! I´ve seen this guy playing dozens of time and he´s nowhere near Portnoy´s league in any way (technique, writting skills, charisma, originality, etc).
DT could audition for a better singer, though

As Skinny stated it was no surprise who got the gig. All I have to say is this is BRILLIANT marketing on the label / managements part.

You guys will know in a few weeks. I am very excited as the drummer has always been one of my faves

I kinda hope it's Peter Wildoer. He was awesome on the new Labrie record and would be able to contribute some AWESOME screams for backup vocals. Very appropriate for the heavier sound Dream Theater keeps trending towards, imo.

Any of those drummers would do a great job. Virgil Donati, Marco Minneman, and Mike Mangini are all fucking insane. Priester and Roddy don't seem like as good a fit to me, but they're both great drummers in their own right.
