Drum programming tips for non-drummers?

man, i've spent probably 2 hours over the last few days trying to program a believable cymbal crescendo in ezdrummer...and every attempt so far has been utter failure

even when i get something that sounds close to believable, there's still too much stick attack in the individual hits

try to put more reverb on the crescendo-part...the stick-attack should disappear

Okay, so rather than posting something old I just sat down for a bit a programmed a short little drum solo type of thing. I spent about an hour on it this morning.

guitar pro for the midi programming on the most part or we use fl studio, audition 3 or protools, its different everyday here as to whats being done and when....
