So long Diamond Plate, hello maple.

The pic isn't very flattering, but I'm pretty stoked with it. Although, now I'm thinking I might stain it transparent black too....

I didn't remove the wood, I just pulled off the diamond plate, and put about 3/8" of maple against the existing panel.

That looks badass! +1 on the stain. I have wanted to remove the plate from mine for a while now. I would really like removing the wood behind the plate and throwing on a piece of smoked plexi glass so you can see the tubes glowing. How difficult would that be?

I found that the panel behind the diamond plate was set into slots in the outer shell. Wouldn't be easy to remove without cutting it out or disassembling the entire shell.
