UPDATE: we have a theory we are willing to go with. the roommate has been very noncommunicative about his previous week, so it took some sleuthing, but:
he disappeared the night after Lisa and I got back from a three-day new year's skiing trip (the other two roommates didn't go, either). my unwholesome roommate had, some months back, suggested going skiing at some point, to which we were like "maybe". so we are thinking that when he realised that we went skiing without him, it sent him into a funk, and he called his mother crying or something and she came and got him.
well, needless to say, if that's true, it's sucky to the max. even though rationally i don't think we're to blame, i still feel guilty. or are we actually to blame?
