I'm curious as to what bands y'all would recommend that are not from North/South America or Europe. With the exception of some Japanese bands, I've never really explored the metal scenes of the orient...

You need to listen to all of these immediately:

Holymarsh - Infliction ov the Morbid Intention. Excellent EXCELLENT melodic death from South Korea

Oathean - The Eyes of Tremendous Sorrow or The Last Desperate 10 Years As Ever. Death influenced black metal, full of melody. Also from Korea.

Magwi - The Bud of Original Sin Schemed by God EP. Pretty decent death metal. Also from Korea.

Sad Legend - BOTH their self-titled and Searching for the Hope in Utter Darkness EP. Just amazing black metal. Uh...also from South Korea

Moonshine - Wake up the Moon. Also full of melody, black/death metal that incorporates keys in an enjoyable fashion. Also from fucking South Korea, yes, but this guy is the only Korean I've ever heard sing a song in French.

Niflheim - A Feast of Darkness. Black metal that isn't as enjoyable as the other bands, but still worth listening to if you ever get around to it. Yes, also from Korea.

I'm sure you know about Intestine Baalism and all that shit so I won't even bother. And yes, Rudra are definitely good.

Sorry I also forgot to mention Abigail, Barbatos, Sabbat (which you probably also already know of), Sigh, and Funeral Rites, all of Japan.

Melechesh are from the Middle East, and they are pretty fucking fantastic.

Arallu is a black death band from Israel, and they incorporate a TON of traditional Hebrew/Israeli music into theirs. VERY good and worth checking out. Also, Rudra sings about Vedic themes, not Hindu (I apologize if they're one & the same, as I'm not entirely familiar).
