WTF sounds like he is not even trying or even bothering to put the slightest effort into it...sounds lazy maybe it is true what he says in the beginning he is to old for this shit...
I posted this over on the Opeth forum but it's worth reposting it here.
The dvd arrived in the post this morning. I must say it's pretty good and I dare say I think I prefer it over The Wacken Carnage, simply because of the setlist. Mike's voice is somewhat strained throughout the whole gig but he's not as bad as he is in the Eaten clip for around 3/4 of it.
His vocals are actually better on the Party San gig but apparently he was sick during that gig and he miss-times a few lyrics here and there and also seems a tad out of breath at times.
The dvd is well worth a purchase though. Mine only cost me €12 so it's not exactly going to break the bank.
Hmm.. Mike's vocals sound very painful, similar to how mine would be after being congested and coughing a lot; perhaps this is the case? I can't believe he's lost his growl yet.
I have not heard the entire DVD, but Per's lead guitar playing in the live setting is nice. The Wacken Carnage is great, but my problem with it was the lead playing. There's 2 nice lead sections on the entire DVD. The Wacken Carnage turned out great surprisingly because it really sounds like the band just winged it.
