Economic Woes

Yeah I'm so burnt. I'll take my retarded grease monkey head up my ass self and go to my corner now. Mr. Dead Winter, he's so cool, socialist and worldly! He lives in Italy! :worship:

Anyhoo nice of you to wish hardship on millions of people. I'm off to bed. And I'd MUCH rather have the Cadillac thank you.

I'd hit my mom too! :saint:

Dude at this point I'm just fucking with you. I don't think you're a grease monkey and I don't think you have your head up your ass. For the record, I'm not a socialist, but I appreciate the value of good social systems.

I just know which are your hot buttons due to being American myself. We Americans all have the same weaknesses and I'm just poking yours with a stick. Just talk about one of these things:

- Show any lack of appreciation towards anything American

- Mention something about lack of culture in the US

- Talk about the shitty medical system

- Talk about the shitty education system

- Talk about the shitty economy and American-made products

- Mention anything even remotely similar to the military and just a hint of possibility of another country having better weaponry

Just choose one of these things and we'll get all huffy and seriously offended. Even the most far-left hippie pot-smoking communist wannabe from Berkeley will throw a hissy fit. The Irish have tempers, The English have snobbery, and the Americans have inferiority complexes.

Lynn I think you're an intelligent guy who knows what he's talking about and I'm really just poking the bull in the balls with a stick at this point. While I'm serious about my convictions, I don't really want people to lose their jobs. I may be a bit ambivalent about it all because Americans tend to feel they are the center of the universe and the most important thing evaaarrr, and so with that comes a big, "it's your fucking problem" attitude from this side. The big three going under has absolutely no effect on me or my life whatsoever, therefore, why should I pity a company who rested on their laurels when the rest of the world was bringing about innovation to the market?

What does have an effect on me, however, are other companies that are having to lay off lots of people. You see, I teach English to various companies around this region...big, big international companies in the same realm as Ford and GM. If they don't have the money to pay their own employees in this time of crisis, do you really think they're going to pay for English courses? I'd say a big, emphatic no. However, I don't see anyone here rushing to bailout these companies, AND THIS IS A SWEDISH COMPANY, THE EPITOME OF WELFARE AND SOCIAL SYSTEM-BASED SOCIETIES. Yet, there's no money pouring in from the Swedish government to bail this company out, is there? It wasn't their fault there's an economic crisis, they were just victim to it. They don't have fleets of learjets; they fly commercial. Yet, it's the total opposite for the Big Three, who have been trying to dig themselves out of the hole THEY MADE for years.

Therefore, you will have to forgive me if I don't rush to send a check to help them out of this crisis.

No hard feelings, man. Sometimes you just gotta put your balls out there and be brutal because only then will people show you what they really think.
