^^Good choises. And if you like Swedish Death Metal from the 90's, make sure you get Unorthodox. That album was groundbreaking in the gengre. It even got my little brother to throw out his Vanilla Ice albums and start listening to Death Metal. 
P.S. I love them all... I do have a little problem liking Cryptic though. It's not bad, but it's not at all what I expected from Edge of Sanity at the time.

The Spectral Sorrows and Unorthodox stand at the very top of the second tier of Swedish death metal, and any fan of the style should own them. The rest of their material is either too generic (Nothing but Death Remains) or simply too gimmicky and populist in its leanings (everything else) to take seriously.

You miss the distinction between 'popular,' which refers to the fanbase, and 'populist,' which refers to the content of the music and the intent behind it. Moreover, these things are relative. In comparison to many of their (far superior) contemporaries, Edge of Sanity were enormously popular (and thoroughly populist).
But then again, what else can you expect of someone who actually believes that pentatonic scales come from Africa?

"Pretentious language" leads to greater concision, dumbass. Those 'big words' allow you to say in one or two words what it would otherwise take a paragraph to explain.
