I'm so damn excited to see these guys. I hope they go heavy on "Theater of Salvation" stuff...I'd kill to hear them play "Babylon," possibly my fav power metal song of all time. I know they are going to kick my ass all over the place.

Their new cd is by far the best, i wasnt a HUGE edguy fan until i heard it, so i hope they play lots of that.

Ech, I hope so. I'm a HUGE Edguy fan(atic), and I seriously hope the new album isn't anything like the disasterous "King of Fools EP". Is that a sign of things to come? I hope not! :erk:

I'd have to agree with Jay, the King of Fools EP was pretty disappointing. I liked Mandrake OK, but even that wasn't as good as the previous albums. I'm going to withold judgement until I get to hear the new CD in its entirety, but I sure hope Edguy's best work is not already behind them. Regardless, I'm sure they'll put on an awesome show, and with a 90 minute set they'll have plenty of time to play some of the old stuff and make people like me happy.

what's with everyone griping about the EP? I haven't heard it yet.. what's so different between that vs the last 4 releases?
Well IMHO the title track has an over-processed, over-synthesized sound to it that just isn't really to my tastes, and the remaining songs sound like filler material (which is somewhat to be expected on a single/ep but disappointing never the less).

BTW, they had 5 previous releases before the EP. Or I guess 6 if you count Savage Poetry twice.

Well folks, just remember... King Of Fools is the only song that's actually from the Hellfire Club. The others are not what we'll hear on the album. I dig the other songs, but the sound quality is lame-o. But hey! That means there'll be killer songs that sound BETTER once we sink our teeth into the new album.

I dug Mandrake. A little less speed and thrash, but hella-good song writing and composing. And Save Us Now was one hella-metal song. And I love showing Wash Away The Poison to people who aren't into power metal. They say "Whoah! What a great sounding song!" And then Fallen Angels breaks their eardrums. Heh heh.

I'll be happy with whatever they play.

As long as it's not Abba.

After seeing Edguy at PP3 and hearing "King Of Fools" and "Hellfire Club", I cannot wait to see them again. They crushed at the Earthlink!!!!! The best moment was checking in at the Granada and meeting Tobias Sammet in the lobby as he was dragging his luggage in with Jens Ludwig. They were in awe that me and a friend drove 12 hours to see them. Also having beakfast with them and Kai Hansen and Gamma Ray the next morning will never forgotten. Can PP5 top this? I hope so!

This first single “King of Fools” features Edguy doing what they do best, writing another fantastic catchy single. Radio in the states would be stupid not to play this song, and I’m sure they are going to drop the ball once again! Someone please put me on the radio!

These young Germans are one of the best at consistently writing many songs that have a great hook without losing its balls. The production is really strong with guitars right out in front so I am excited to hear what the rest of the album is like.

This single comes from their forth coming release “Hellfire Club” in March. The single features 4 tracks that will not appear on the full length. The ironically titled “Life and Times of a Bonus Track” is a satirical poke at the dealings with record labels, filled with the bands special brand of profanity and humor.

I can't wait to see these guys at Prog Power again, they really should do some touring in the states as well. I think they underestimate how many people would go to see them.
