I've seen the RE20 used before on guitar cabinets (in conjunction with an sm57) and I'm curious if anyone has tried this combination. I picked up my own RE20 last week, and I must share that I really like what it did for the floor tom.

The RE20 is great on bass and kick drum, of course. I guess I should try it on the floor tom now that I've got a D6 for the kick. Thanks for the tip.

I only tried it on guitar once when I split the signal into a bass amp and threw a big muff on it. I'll have to give it a shot in a more conventional guitar setting sometime.

Try it on screamy vocals, too. It can be good for guys that really like to thrash around and be able to hold on to a mic.

Great mic. It's definitely my fave for bass cabs at the moment.

Can sound very cool on guitar cabs. I believe that Frank Zappa used it quite a bit on his guitars, and I've tried it a bunch of times, with many cool results.

Did you combine it with another mic, or use it as the sole mic? Any favorite placements?

I'm probably going to spend the better part of my evening messing with guitars, so I'll have to give the RE20 a try.
