Emperor- In the Nightside Eclipse

This album is what got me into black metal, and the only thing I don't like about is that it sounds like it was recorded in a dumpster. Other than that small issue, the cd is perfect. They add the perfect amount of orchestration to make it sound great, and combined with the excellent vocals and playing itself, the cd is nearly perfect.

This album is a good start for any person looking for some good black metal.

recording quality doesn't bother me, unless it is like classical or electronic music. This is my favorite emperor album, especially that first song. Beautiful.

I thought that they could have done some different things as far as production and sound quality, but I love the vocals.

Wrong. This album is the peak of the second wave of BM, in my opinion. Belongs right up there with Satyricon's "Dark Medieval Times" as one of black metal's greatest accomplishments.

Good but Transilvanian Hunger is way better. As is Under a Funeral Moon. Hvis Lyset Tar Oss smokes all of these albums though.
