The JCM800 is not that bad an amp, but if you need high gain, it ain't exactly the best amp. I recommend you get a super overdrive pedal like Zakk Wylde does if you do consider purchasing the JCM800. Zakk Wylde has one of the best guitar tones coming out of such a simple set up

the 800's are AWESOME. Hands down. Superb. You can get crazy gain as long as you throw a dist. box or rack unit in front of it to drive the clean channel. go for it.

damn, engl's are rare as rocking horse shit over here in the UK but i know where to get them, i just cant get one used

i think mesas have quite a divided opinion base, quite a lot of people like them, quite a lot dont.

I dont really like them, as they dont really fit into my style, but if i was playing a slightly different type of metal then i would probably love em
im torn between a powerball, a carvin legacy or a marshall tsl100 for my big amp upgrade, shall take a years' saving unfortunately

and i need to get rid of this damn podxtpro i impatiently bought that i dont use (its new in the box essentially if anyone's interested)
