English Project

I don't think... ...good luck on your project!

Yeah, thanks for the input. Those songs are great, but I need more lyrics to work with because the more lyrics, the better the grade (teacher's quote) so I need something longer. If I do Hessian Peel, what are the sections that are unconfirmed? And what do you guys think of the reversed part? I think Hessian Peel would be good because it starts slow with clean, and then erupts and returns to the clean. Which hopefully isn't going to blast the class right away.:loco:

I'm doing a project on Opeth too, but it isn't for English, it's for music. So I don't have to open a new thread, does anyone know where I can find the notes of their songs (The Moor)? Would help me alot.

ultimate guitar, download a power tab or a guitar pro tab. they have standard notation and its reasonably accurate

You might wanna pick a song which has the entire Opeth style in it, like The Drapery Falls, or maybe When... I don't know... something that can actually represent Opeth's genre and unique style, if you get what I'm sayin' :loco:

I suggest Heir Apparent so the class will vomit because of its sheer brutality, an awesome sight

I can imagine girls covering their ears with their hands and maybe crying as Mikael goes AND AGAIN HE RIDES IN IT'S SEPTEMBER AND HE COVETS THE GULLIBLEEAAHHH!

I would probably say The Moor, or White Cluster - lots of metaphor and imagery in Still Life lyrics which are great for analysing. White cluster itself is symbolism for the crowd of the village watching as they execute the exile. ;)

How about Blackwater Park?

But, really, it doesn't matter what song you do. As long as you are reasonally good at bullshitting and pick a moderately ambiguous song, you can go where ever you want with it and still get a good grade. I've done similar projects several times with several different songs. A good way to go is to reference major works of poetry. Everytime I quote The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot (the quote in my sig is from part I, The Burial of the Dead) I recieve high praise for it (and a nice 100% or more). Just make sure you use good terminology and sound convincing even when you have no clue what you are talking about.
Good luck and good grade!

I always thought Mikael lied when saying Watershed wasn't a story. There are so many connected elements. But go for Still Life, Blackwater Park or Deliverance. Even My Arms Your Hearse. They all hide some very interesting stories.
