Ensiferum / Vintersorg (Scandinavian Folk Metal)

Hey there! I was wondering if anyone's heard of the Folk Metal bands Ensiferum or Vintersorg. Do you think they're ProgPower-worthy?

Vintersorg is definitely PP-worthy...in a recent posting on their forum, Asgeir (the same guy who drums for Spiral Architect and a billion others) says the next album will continue in a prog direction...

I've heard big things about Vintersorg but haven't been able to listen to them. I'd love it if you could upload some clips from them and Ensiferum so I could check them out.

How about melodic death bands such as Kalmah or Norther? Children of Bodom would obvioulsy be the best representative!!!

Vintersorg is great but he does much of his songs in Swedish if that matters much. It doesn't bother me but it might bother some people.

Vintersorg - yes, although I prefer his Borknagar material.

Ensiferum - absolutely yes, yes, yes. Glenn - if you're reading this, I'll be more than happy to send you a CD-R of their s/t CD. We ran an interview and review - I think you'd be intrigued to say the least.

Vintersorg is definitely ProgPower worthy; his albums blow away most of the PP bands, actually.
