Enslaved in Chicago - October 2

Enslaved brought out the singer of TNT for a cover of Immigrant Song in NY. It was REAL weird to say the least, but lots of fun. Alcest was absolutely incredible. I'm so glad I finally got to see them.

Two questions. 1. How long did Alcest get? 2. Did they play any older material or was it pretty much all off their last album?

They played 2 songs from Souvenirs, one song off Le Secret, and the rest was stuff off Ecailles. I think it was about 6 songs total. Honestly I wish they could have played for longer.

Fuckin all ages rules. Show should be as long as the show is. Period. Someone will fucked for time. I can hope not. Enslaved has a decently long setlist this tour. The last time I saw them headline they played for less than an hour.

My bitching above is predicated on the fact that I will still go to the show (no question) and still have a great time listening to amazing bands no matter how long each set is.

I doubt they'll cut Enslaved's or Alcest's set. That sort of thing doesn't happen at the Bottom Lounge. Now, if it had been at Reggie's that would be another story.

Saw this last night in Columbus. Wow! Was Alcest awesome!!!! They have a new fan, picked up their new one immediately after their set. Really good stuff - reminds me a lot of
Agalloch.
Enslaved crushed! They were tight, they sounded awesome, and played a nice mix of old and new. Even played a tune off of Frost and their Yggdrasil EP. This is the second time I've sen Enslaved, and Grutle was in fine form with the crowd. I don't remember him interacting as much when I saw them in Cleveland. Which brings me to my final observation. I almost... almost take back all the negative things I've said about the Columbus metal scene in the past. I was expecting a poor showing for the show but was really surprised when about 200-300 people were there. And more importantly, the crowd was super responsive to the crowd and the bands were really feeding off of the crowd.

Great night! Great show!

William.....great meeting you last night....hopefully you are alive still. You looked like you were going to fall over dead at the show. After you left there was like 10 people there for Cage. It was like out own private show. Have fun tonight....Bottom Lounge is a great place to see bands.
