Looking at buying myself some EQ plugins as at the moment i only have the eq plugins that come with pro tools le.

Have already been looking at the UAD cards or the SSL duende.

Any suggestions?

To be honest the pro tools eq is fine. It's not a character eq by any means but it certainly does the job.

If you want a character eq you could grab the waves SSL/API bundles. There's also the Softube Trident EQ.

Most digital Eq's are more or less the same; don't fret about it too much.
The eq3 is actually REALLY good.

Not something i was freting about, its just i fianlly got my hands on a distressor and 1176 recently and have been blown away by how awesome these sound and the difference these can make even compared to the likes of the 1176 plugins etc.

So after this was wondering what route i could go down for using better sounding EQs.

Equality for transparency, and I guess if you want some character eqs, there are stuff like Trident A-Range, Abbey Road RS127/135 and PE1C (Pultec-style), but they are very expensive.
