Equipment for listening music thread.

I have a very old all in one system (two speakers, no preamp) and it sounds fucking badass. Fuck you audiophilic bastards.

I have an Ipod nano (the newer one)
My computer speakers which are a bit old
A cd player that I've had for ever since I was like 9 or 10,

I plan on getting a vinyl player, but for now I use my parents one from like the 70s or 80s.

I might have to get one of these. Does it sound decent and not muffled?

Also, post a picture of it so I can see what it looks like and hunt one down.

How do the drone records sound in that!?!?

Well old all in ones can be ok but the thing is they have their own connectors and things. If the speakers blow or something, or just wither away, it's a bit of a pain.

What decade are these things from haha? Before external turntables became big? How much do they run for?

I will probably never understand why people want to listen to music the dinosaur way.

I have a Sony Ipod docking station that can also play CDs, CD-Rs and mp3 CD-Rs.

I take my Ipod to work everyday so I don't have to listen to vapid Top 40 nonsense on the transit to and from work.

I also own a hand-me-down turntable on which I can play my small LP collection.

Has anyone ever used Sennheiser or AKG earphones? They are expensive but is it worth a try? Anyway, what pissess me off is that no matter how much money you pay for your earphones, eventually, after some time of use one of the earphones just stops playing.

I've had a set of Sennheiser HD25's for about 4/5 years and have had no issues with them at all. They've been thrown about and taken to all manner of shitty environments as well. They cost about $450 AUS though. They sound amazing and they look like this:

I have a 30GB iPod and a fairly decent small Sony stereo for CDs.

This is my vinyl setup...

The amp and speakers are pretty high end ones from the 70s and belonged to my dad, while the turntable is a pretty cheap generic one. But I recently bought a good quality stylus and that's made a big difference.

I also have these:

Creative Aurvana Live

I am satisfied with them, the sound quality is good but I hardly ever listen music with them. Imagine, that here in Poland, you wouldn't last with them five minutes on the streets, you would immediately be a fucking moving target for retards who beat people in parks.

I also have an old set of creative 5.1 speakers but with creative sound blaster X-fi Xtreme Audio sound card it is a good combination. I most often listen to music on my computer.
