I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this song, like where it was recorded and what the words are & stuff.

It's the bonus on the Morningrise Re-release. Here is the information in the CD:
As an extra bonus for this reissue edition we have included a rare rehearsal track from 1992. The song, "Eternal Soul Torture" was our "magnum opus" in those pre-recording days an it still has some magic moments I'd say. It was later broken down into parts that was used in the opening track of this album (Advent). Observe!
- Mikael Akerfeldt 2000

The track actually has parts of Advent, and In the Mist She was Standing. It has really bad production, and isn't too fun to listen to. But it has its moments and is cool to hear. As more lyrics I am not sure.

Hum... Gotta check it out then!
Don't think I have heard that track!!
I'm totally lost.
I am tallentless at remembering
names/songtitles as well..
Someone shoot me!

Whooooh! Suddenly got VERY excited!
Any other re-issue tracks I need to
check out? I should sit down and order
the re-issues as well! >:o)
*Mmmmm* MUSIC! :o)

Well I only have the re-issue of MAYH, it features both covers Opeth has done so far ('Circle of the Tyrant' and 'Remember Tomorrow'). There may be bonus tracks on the Orchid re-release, too, someone surely knows more about this.

[edit]
I just wanted to add that especially on MAYH the bonus songs can be quite annoying because they destroy the atmosphere that 'Epilogue' leaves behind. :err:

...well speaking from memory, Eternal Soul Torture is not much to be excited about. It's basically an old recording from back in the day. It sounds very much like Katatania in the vein of BMD.

Opeth's cover of I Maiden's "Remember Tommorow" though is neccesary Opeth listening. Mikael's voice (clean vox) is by far the sexiest he's ever done. (sexy in a platonic way I mean ;) )

According to cdnow, the orchid reissue has 1 bonus track :"Into The Frost Of Winter". I don't know anything else about it, though, and it isn't on my copy.

It is rather similar to Eternal Soul Torture soundwise (ie. BAD!) and breaks the feeling of the album just as horribly as all the other bonus-tracks. Surprisingly enough, some parts of it were also used on Advent.

So i guess it's not worth buying the album again to get it...:s

My copy of Orchid had ITFoW on it, and it caused me pain when the awful noise would start after Apostle in Triumph, so I bought the original off of CDNow. I've actually got 2 copies now. I'm not sure what I'll do with the other.

Yeah, I picture that as really horrible!
I also hate it when they release re-issues with
"new" tracks, because you're not used to hear
those songs after the album, so when you
have the cd on repeat it all sounds different.
Different tracklist. When I listen to an album and
a song goes near the end I hear the beginning
of the next song in my head, before it starts...
I look forward to the next track. Those extra
songs just fuck up the whole tracklist that I have
fallen in love with! >:oP

i just found the re-essue of Orchid at my local store and the first track isnt the same as I have it on mp3....
the sound is so different...
and I hate the bonus track!!!

havent heard it yet. :( , i was gonna get it some time ago when i saw it in the shops, but im not rich enough to have 2 copies of the same album, just for one track, it says morningrise on the inside back thingy, so are there any other booklet changes too?
