What are they then?
Not death metal. They're melodic death metal, and that phrase is wrong in its self because you cant really have melodic death metal, it kinda... isnt possible. I guess melo death is an okay phrase for it anyway. Theres small elements of death metal, but thats about it. And well its definatly not Swedish Death Metal. They may be from around there but they dont sound like early Entombed so that case is closed.

amon amarth are indeed melodic death metal with viking themes. are evile the main support or opening band. from the advert it looks like opener. as a metal fan i look forward to seeing evile play live for the first time. as for all you evile fans who don't like amon amarth, they are rather good and put on one hell of a live show. enjoy.

Just saw this. They dont play swedish death metal. Cos swedish death metal has a whole sound of its own and they dont fit into that sound.

Melodic Death Metal is prefectly capable of existing... what about Atheist or Cynic? Just because the vocals aren't melodic it doesn't mean the overall feel of the music can't be melodic... actually I'd say the only Death Metal I like is the melodic stuff...

Well Cynic were only death metal in their demo days. Focus isnt death metal and neither if TIA and the band say it themselves. Atheist were death metal around Piece of Time and the RAVAGE days but they moved away from that and just played progressive metal. Im not saying its totally wrong for the subgenre to have that name because i enjoy a bit of it. The term melodic death metal doesnt work, because it moves away from death metal. But yeh i like subgenres n such because if you hear a band in one style ytou really like, you can look up that style and get more of it.

i actually quite like em, i guess for me because its new to me i had to get used to it and give them a proper good listen, so yeah i really want to go to this now, on the topic of what they are, erm who cares? lol whats wrong with viking metal lol i cant remember what metal hammer calls them but i lost all respect for that magazine ages ago, even more so when they said they likes bring me the fucking horizon....
i dont know what it means though lol, i guess even if i did my understanding would be different to yours lol.
BTW what do you put on your popcorn ocelot, considering your from america, because i have some and i was not knowing what to put on it and i googled and came onto an american site and they was saying shit like curry powder, chilli powder and cheese and shit, do you do that?
