I don't know what time the show was but right now at 11:30 Alaska time it is -36F and predicted to get to -50 in the valley. :yow:

I thought it was hard to breath at 0F when I was in it.

What is it like to try and breath at -30 or more? :OMG:

I have a feeling there will be a hot tub party at Mark's when they get back just to thaw the bones.

Jim

they played the local dive bar last night, 95m, TONS of cool songs, accurate renditions, sweet tape

songs from the top of my head played:

Aces High
The Trooper
Wasted Years
The Number Of The Beast
Sanctuary
Fear Of The Dark
Run To The Hills

and about 10 others

the drummer is beautiful, the bass player (the "Harris" stand in) is cute and they have a new "Adrian Smith", it was only her 2nd gig, she's kinda seductive.

we won't get into the chick on stage right, other than she is taller than most dudes, and was possessed.

for real.

if they come, to your town, TOTALLY check them out, they were only $15 advance in a 400 capacity bar here, on a 35 below evening.

ya hear.

SPEAK TO ME FAIRBANKS!!!

I'll talk about the props later...

The show was hot!

Anyone who enjoys Iron Maiden will love the show these fine ladies put on. They have great stage presense, and have T_A_L_E_N_T! The "new" girl was no novice, despite that a-hole that yelled "not quite a virgin" during her introduction.

Despite the previous post, I'd say they are all hot. From the singer that has a tight little six pack, and a kick that'll make ya keep back, to the innocent looking ladies on stage left, to the proportional lady on the right that looks like she could be on a rocker's arm at a concert. Lest I forget my favoite drummer, who has eyes that can make a manly man melt and give in. (Coincidently, she was great to talk to after the show. Comparing notes was awesome.)

I can tell I'm not as young as I once was. My neck is sore from headbanging, my arms ache from shaking my fist and devil's horns. Kick ass from start to finish.

Linda, bring the girls back to see us soon. I'll even play bodyguard. :p

Alaska has been MAIDENS-IZED! Congrats you guys on losing your virginity of hearing the Maidens live! They are great aren't they? :headbang:

Thanks for the reports folks.

They do rock don't they?

Sara does get possessed when she hits the stage. :headbang: She is great fun to watch. I love it!

You see them the first time maybe because you are curious to see the girls, you go back because they kick ass. :kickass:

Went well, yes overall. The show kicked ass. Sara might not agree about the "well" part though. She and Linda had some equipment issues thoughout the show.

However, like true pros, they made quick adjustments, and the show never slowed pace. Sara even made adjustments mid-song with no apparent miscue. After the song, I caught her eye and told her it was a nice recovery, and she said thanks with a look that was part frustration, part relief.

Speaking of looks, Linda gave a pouty look during Sanctuary that was the sexiest damn thing I've ever seen.

Oh, and Linda, I thought of a song you guys didn't play that I wanna hear next time! You didn't play 2 Minutes to Midnight!

Despite the previous post, I'd say they are all hot.

I thought about that after posting and would like to re-clarify my poor choice of words.

all of them actually are hot, but only 3 of the 5 I undressed with my eyes...damn drum kits and fellow rockers heads get in the way sometimes.

or, you know, even if a lady is hot, sometimes she just ain't got that "thing" that really hooks ya.

as for the "not quite a virgin" comment

where does virgin wool come from?

Prowler was the only one besides 2M2M that was missing on this end...then again, there's too many cool IM songs from the get go to get "pithy" (that's 'pissy', with a lisp)

anywho, if there is an "archivist" here, if they could either let me know in this thread or email me @ hagar@gci.net

I might have some nice sounding cds of the gig here in a bit.

What , nobody in Alaska owns a friggin' digital camera??!!??

I loved watching Sara when I saw them in S.A....she was a cyclone....

Boys, boys - can we please stop focusing on how "hot" the band members are please. They are all beautiful but want to be known for their playing, not their looks. If you really must discuss it, then do it via pm please. Thanks! :)

oh crikey, the lead singer wears a codpiece but we're supposed to talk about their playing???

:dorky gay winkie here:

anyhow, to totally prove my IM ignorance, here's a near complete setlist, you folks help fill in the blanks (after spending an hour trying "Iron Maiden" lyric search engine, I give the feck up)

The Iron Maidens
Fairbanks, AK
2/23/07
The Blue Loon

-intro music (this puzzles me, it sounded like UFO's "Doctor Doctor", but with a goil singin...any help here, or was I just drunk)
-Aces High
-Die With Your Boots On
-The Trooper
-Wasted Years
-The Clairvoyant
-band thank yous
-The Prisoner
-Revelations
-band intros
-Iron Maiden
-shameless website plug
-The Number Of The Beast
-Fear Of The Dark (!!!)
-refreshment time
-Phantom Of The Opera
-Sanctuary
-Hallowed Be Thy Name
-Run To The Hills

that looks so much cleaner.

now don't tell me this minimurraywannabe likes Metallica too?

-??? ("there's a time to live, a time to die, time to meet your maker"...my cds aren't with me right now or I'd figure that one out for sure)
-band thank yous
-??? ("I'm on the run, I kill to eat"...this must be EARLY IM)
-Revelations
-band intros
-??? ("Lying on the bed"...I'm guessing this is the song "Iron Maiden", again, no IM cds where I'm at to confirm)
-shameless website plug
-The Number Of The Beast
-Fear Of The Dark (!!!)
-refreshment time
-??? ("You won't get away, you know I"...this one I'm drawing blanks on)\
-Sanctuary
-??? (that pretty long one "@ 5 o clock they're gonna take me to the gallows pole"...I'm guessing "Somewhere In Time", but, again, no cds here to play with
-Run To The Hills

so c'mon, help a brudder out.

In a word...yes!

Unknown Maiden tracks...

- The Clairvoyant
- The Prisoner
- I think you probably mean "See the blood flow, watching it shed - up above my head" in which case, yes that's Iron Maiden
- The next one doesn't ring a bell, anymore lyrics? Possibly Phantom Of The Opera, "I've been looking so long for you now you won't get away from my grasp..."
- Hallowed Be Thy Name

THANKS for the help. (I assume you answered in order???)

gimme five minutes and i'll getcha some more lyrics.

ok...do realize the sound was up and down all night...some songs sounded awesome, some were missing Aja's vox (at least in prominence), the backing vox were totally missing in the beginning but better in the end.

it's a 7 minute or so song, opens with geetar solo, lots a thrashin', and:

"Looks like you ___ ____ & you won't get away from my

"You know and I know"

"...wait for the curtain to fall
knowing the terror"

is that better?

the girls are all gonna think this thread is cool and find out it's just a lyric geek and his friend.

c'mon, is there ANYONE else who saw the show out there?

Yes, that's definately Phantom Of The Opera.

"I've been looking so long for you now, you won't get away from my grasp.."

"You know and I know that you ain't got that long to last..."

"Standing in the wings now you wait for the curtain to fall, knowing the terror and holding you have on us all..."

you rule, now start a lyric generator thread and get it to the top of the page on google.

will go back and edit setlist now!

again, sorry for my ignorance, I'm a "casual" Maiden fan, like when I'm in a UFO/old Scorps/Bon ACDC mood, some "22 Acacia Ave." or "Prowler" might get mixed in.

thanks again!
