Ooer. What's this about? I sent a message to whoever set up the space telling them Dark Tranquillity is spelt with double the amount of Ls.

Do the band or label know about this? And is it not like, copyright or something?

My only problem is people are talking to whatever kid made it like he is the band... he's probably proper getting off over it.

D.T. at Myspace? - June 23, 2005

Some people have been contacting us recently about the D.T. page at Myspace.com, wondering if it's authentic. Neither us or Century media was aware of its existance until recently, so it's probably set up by a fan.

While we appreciate the effort and think it's great that our band info and some music is available in such a big online community, it's worth noting that the D.T. members themselves aren't in any way involved in the Myspace page. Judging by the comments, a lot of the visitors aren't aware of this, so that's why we mention it here. Just to avoid confusion.

anyway its interesting which songs the owner of this site streams:
Lost to apathy
Mind Matters
To a bitter halt
Crimson Winds

I must have been on holiday that week :p ... well yeah, if the dude that owns it gets back to me (I messaged him about misspelling the name), I think I'll be of right mind to tell him to not pretend to be somekind of official thing. If he said clearly that it was a fan page then there wouldn't be an issue. Just grinds my gears a tad. I have some mates who actually find profiles with their pictures on, set up by people pretending to be them (cos they are the beautifual popular myspace people) all the time. It's such a sad thing, and I think this situation is similar.

Weird indeed. It's fascinating how many people that automatically go "You guys.." without the page giving any indication at all of being official or ran by band members. If anything, it looks and feels totally non-official.

Oh well...can't be bothered about it. We probably should put up an official Myspace page, but it's too much work, and I really detest those communities and everything they stand for anyway...:D

@Rahvin: That'd just be feeding his ugly ego :p...

@Caotico: I'd agree if it wasn't for the fact that I hate most actual communities aswell anyway (emo scene... hardcore scene... SxE scene... Even the grindcore scene over here is stupid (and alot of those twats settle on Myspace) ). But yeah, if you have views against it, letting someone pretend to be you guys isn't a good way to show that... :p just a thought.

Yes, Myspace is a good example of why most people shouldn't be allowed to access the Internet, or computers in general for that matter.

Despite this, I decided to challenge my prejudices, so I'm actually setting up a D.T. page at http://www.myspace.com/dtofficial.

My personal dislike for online communities aside, it's good promotion, and I guess that bands more or less are supposed to be on Myspace these days.

Anyway, we'll see how it goes...

EDIT: Mandatory reading: www.myspaceisgay.com

Cock!!

Finally :)

Yeah, that "is gay" page is hilarious. And so true :D

I hope I don't offend dark tranquillity by not adding them to my list of friends :p
I was dragged into using myspace by someone, but I try to not go over to the dark side completely, and the only people I have on my list are real life friends. Well, and people from here and another forum I go to.

but I might leave a comment just to be one of the first :loco:

edit: oh, I need to be your friend to leave a comment, phooey. nvm.

Cool that DT is getting a real page on there.

And like I sort of said previously, it's easy to say "Myspace is gay"... but really, it's people who are gay. Myspace and audiostreet etc can be used constructively. It's not like they are dating sites. Me and my mates organise all kind of events over it in our own group and stuff, and it's also pretty good for exhibiting music if you're unsigned and such. It's just some people that treat it like a contest. That is gay as fuck... but same thing as spammers who just want a high post count on forums... doesn't make all forums gay. Still, there was once a time when I thought I'd never ever be defending myspace. :p
