If you could create your own 5 piece band taking any musician from any band, but only one member connected with any one band, what would be your line up?

Mine would be

Vocals Russell Allen, Symphony X, needs no explanation here.

Guitar Kai Hansen, Gamma Ray, awesome guitarist, excellent song writer, and a great voice too, to compliment Russ.

Bass Steve Harris, Iron Maiden. Has to be. Most powerful thumping bass you could wish to hear and another great song writer.

Drums Russell Gilbrook, Uriah Heep, A very powerful hard hitting drummer who would compliment the rhythm section with Steve amazingly. It's no coincidence that Heep's last 3 albums since his arrival have found new life and power.

Keyboards Tuomas Holopainen, Nightwish. Had to rack my brains here as obvious choices Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep) and Michael Pinnella were out of bounds, but I want good song writers and strong musicians in my band and this guy ticks the boxes

So to some up
Russell Allen
Kai Hansen
Steve Harris
Russell Gilbrook
Tuomas Holopainen

I would love to hear an album this mix could come up with.

Vocals - Andy Kuntz from Vanden Plas. Although is not my favourite vocalist, his voice would fit to such a line-up that would make some melodic, technical and dark metal.)
Guitars - Michael Romeo - He is both my favourite guitarist, and I think he also would fit perfect to this group musically)
Bass - ICS Vortex of Arcturus - Aside from playing the bass, he would also enrich the vocals, and may take the lead about it at times.
Drums - Aquiles Priester (ex-Angra) Very solid and diverse drummer, who also can write very impressive drums.
Keyboards - Finn Zierler (ex-Beyond Twilight) - Did I say I want my fantasy band do some dark music? ;)

Drums - Mike Lopez
Guitar - Steve Rothery
Bass - Tony Levin
Guitar - Alex Skolnick
Keys - Einar Solberg (Leprous)
Vocals - Mikael Stanne

I actually think this would make one hell of any interesting band. All guys with incredible abilities who all occasionally like to lean back into a steady groove and have fun with some classic rock material.

I know it's not following the rules, but I refuse to give up the Romeo/Allen combo.

Drums: Mike Mangini

Keys: Kevin Moore
