Just got the album in the mail and to be honest, I'm a little disappointed. Not exactly sure what I was expecting but I thought it would be of higher quality. I'm at "Our Fortress is Burning... - Bloodbirds." Here are some thoughts:
Pros:
~ Wider array of style
~ Awesome wooden box
~ Some really cool riffs here and there
Cons:
~ Production sounds really empty. especially on the piano parts, wtf?! Also, sounds... abrupt? at times.
~ The lyrics are not even half as good as the ones on The Mantle or even Pale Folklore. I think maybe lyrically this album might have been better to experiment because it sounds a bit tired.
~ Album art is not nearly as good as that of prior endeavors and thus contributes to a lack of atmosphere.
~ Lack of atmosphere on some parts (namely "Limbs").
I guess I was hoping for something that would top The Mantle which is a nearly impossible feat, in my eyes (and ears) anyway.
I'll give it more listens.

I finally got mine today. Just wondering how much of a random roundabout voyage this thing must have taken to get from Utah to Colorado AFTER some arrived on the damn eastern side of the country. But anyway...
LOVE the box, mine is pretty well put together and came with the bag of ashes
kickass: ) along with a large sticker and the postcards. The shirt is also quite beautiful and fits me pretty well, which was a pleasant surprise. Not going to listen to the album until the time feels right though, not wasting an amazing first experience over shallow excitement.
Wondering if the ashes/bones were randomly inserted or if they put one in the $32, the other in $22 package.

I think its random, I got the $32 one today in the mail, it came with bones.

Furious B, I've been listening to the album for 3 months or so and I gotta say, its a huge grower. I'm loving it more than The Mantle or any other EP they released. Give Limbs a chance, give the whole deal a chance, this is one of the greatest albums ever recorded. I have played this on acid last weekend and came to the conclusion that this is my favorite album evar. give it a proper chance!
