Opeth has some fantastic uses of acoustic guitars in their discography. This thread is for everyone to state their favorites.

Mine in no particular order:

The opening to The Apostle in Triumph...I love the energy.
All of Harvest..it's so lush and beautiful.
The opening of Closure
All of Benighted...so beautiful.
Coil...I love the tone.
Around the 7:50 mark on The Drapery Falls...I like how it comes in from the crazy passage that preceded it.

The night and the silent water (the very subtle acoustic just after the first intro riff is finished, I think mikael slowly plays some power chords while there is a fast acoustic picking) I love that part!

Also the only good thing with BRI are the acoustic passages, they are pretty damn good as well.

Under the weeping moon is great as well (the intro)

Closure needs to be mentioned and of course godhead's lament

Ehm there are too many of them really

Some of my favourite acoustic passages are the ones in Deliverance (the song of course). They're quite simple but still sooo beautiful, and mike's voice fits in so well in those parts... And the acoustic parts in Reverie/harlequin forest and ghost of perdition. Love them!

The part after the intro of Blackwater Park
The Moor, I can't believe it has not been mentioned

the moor is nothing special, still life has much better and more prominent acoustic work, just look at godhead's lament and moonlapse vertigo
