I beg to differ with that I think the drums sound gorgeous on Scenes, the kick and snare come through so well and clear yet they don't overpower the sound.
With symphony the drums sound like a distant thud and the snare sounds very weak this combined with Jason's playing which is complementary but not as virtuoso as Portnoy it makes them difficult to notice.
They sounded great live but then the keyboards were practically inaudible, ohh they'll get it right one day!
