My favorites have been, from my limited availability has been porters, lagers, and stouts. We are currently brewing a Dark Ale, and I'm curious to see how that will come out.

I voted belgian triple, but i mean quad. Expensive as fuck but when i do have them though...so good! In fact, i have a Trappistes Rochefort 10 in my possession waiting to be consumed any day now. :kickass:

That's like asking "What's your favorite style of metal?" There are excellent choices in every style (with my "favorite" being the last one I drank!), and then they've all got plenty of shit too (ok, there probably aren't a lot of shitty Belgian Style Tripels out there...)

The one in that picture from your HC side excursion looked mighty tasty.

That's a fine eye you have there sir, for it was mighty tasty! That one was an Oatmeal Stout, which was almost perfect. I also had their 'House Ale' (on cask), which was a bit low on flavor, but the amazing freshness and roundness and smoothness easily made up for that.

If there's an HCIII, I highly recommend the place, if you can recover from your Friday night drinking in time to start up again early on Saturday afternoon. It was just a couple blocks from my hotel, which puts it just about right in between the venue and the festival hotel.

I'd do everything within my power to help make it happen.

Heh, as much as we talk it up, my experience with most of the after parties have been in a relaxed environment without overtly "excess" activities and rife with great discussion. Of course, there are many that have more than they should, but I've never found myself unable to appreciate a fine brew the following afternoon. Absolutely count me in for that should we have the opportunity.

Btw, for any of you big stout fans, if you can get it, grab an Avery Mephistopheles. A bit pricey @ approx $8 for a 12oz bottle but it is well worth it and you wont have anything like it. Had it vertically against a WWS from Dogfish Head and it absolutely blew the fucker away. Definitely pushing the envelope of beer @ 16%...simply astounding. It just was released a little while ago so get it now while it lasts.

Doomcifer, where do you get all your beers? My beer store in NY will only get the usual imports, or local brews. So for example, where can I buy some Dark Lord?
