Operatika is pleased to announce this official release of our new single--Ronnie James Dio's "We Rock". It is our tribute to Dio and his contribution to the world of heavy metal. We hope you enjoy our own interpretation of this classic song. ....

In light of Dio's recent passing we will be donating all of the proceeds from this song to Dio's Stand Up & Shout Cancer Fund. ....

Please take a chance to check it out if you're into doom metal (we have death and black elements as well) ... some of our influences include Opeth, Dimmu, Amorphis, Arch Enemy, Cradle of Filth.

More and more I'm realizing how silly it is to limit bands promoting themselves to just this one thread. So I am going to un-stick this thread and encourage bands to start individual threads to promote their bands. All I ask is that you try to post a little more than just a link to your band's (or your friend's band's) website. Please try to give a description and some of your thought on that band, what shows they have coming up, etc. I hoping this will lead to more conversation about each band within those threads.

Thanks to all the great bands so far that have used our forum to promote yourselves and make more of us aware of what great female fronted metal is out there! I hope this small change will help us see a strong continuation of this trend of sharing great metal with our growing community of female fronted metal lovers! \m/

A friend gave me a link to this site, thought I'd do a little of promotion for my band "Imperial Omen" we are a brand new band out of San Francisco looking to go big. There are two vocalists in the band, a screamer and a clean vocalist. The reason for duel vocals is that it seems to be a way more powerful approach in my opinion. So far it has been very successful up to our skill level. We were offered to open up for Rotting Christ this coming March, but were turned down to the fact that the promoters said there are already five bands playing. We've been approached by several magazine writers who have offered to do interviews with us but require an EP which we are working on right now... As of right now we are sitting at number 43 out of a whopping 175 bands in the bay on our metal charts on Reverbnation, and we are not active. When we do start playing shows after the EP is finished then I can only imagine the numbers then. Anyways enough promo. I am just happy to find this forum page, it's awesome! I hope you all enjoy our music and spread our plague! Thank you!

Hi everyone,

My name is Jonathan, and I'm a drummer/composer from Chicago. I'm new here, and first I want to say that a lot of band discussed here (Dream Theater, Meshuggah, Planet X etc.) have been an incredible inspiration to me, and I probably wouldn't be having the minor success I'm having now if not for their music. I thought you guys might like to check out some new music that draws a bit from that tradition. Yep, I've got a Prog Metal band called District 97, and our debut album "Hybrid Child" was released to worldwide acclaim in September 2010 by Laser's Edge. The kicker that seperates us from any other prog band is that we feature 2007 American Idol Finalist Leslie Hunt and Chicago Symphony Orchestra virtuoso cellist Katinka Kleijn. Here are some links you guys can check out:

We're also super pumped to be opening for Gamma Ray in Chicago:

Early, All Ages Show!
Thursday, February 3rd @ Reggie's Rock Club
2109 S. State, Chicago, IL 60605, 6:00 PM, $25
Advance tickets at http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/Sal...=3245685&pl=mp.
w/Gamma Ray, Mindwarp Chamber, Atomize, Act of Destruction

If you guys like what you hear, you can pick up our CD everywhere online for sale or download. Also, you can download a full show (and get some goodies for doing so) at http://district97.bandcamp.com/album/district-97-live-at-calprog. In any case, I'd be curious to hear the thoughts of some like-minded music fans!

Jonathan

DIARYOFDESTRUCTION.COM

Diary of Destruction is a melodic metal band of Lille (France) formed at the end of 2007 with the meeting of 4 friends coming from different musical horizons. Actually, their music can be defined as being some heavy metal with neo metal, gothic and metalcore influences.
Diary of Destruction's music allies a powerful and intoxicating singing to incisive riffs sublimated by gothic tones.
The band tries ceaselessly to improve the alchemy of the sweetness and the bewitchment of singing with the power of its guitars and its drums.

Diary of Destruction is a metaphor based on the personal diary (symbol of the recession) and of the Destruction (representing the rough, impulsive aspect of the man).

At the beginning of 2009, the band takes out an eponymic demo of 3 titles and realizes a serie of concerts France and in Belgium to make discover its music.

Strong of this experience, the band works on its first EP adding grunts, soloes of guitar and drums more in adequacy with the ambitions of the band.

An Ep 6 titles named Outside the Shade is released on november 2nd, 2010.
For now, the first album is in preparation, and will be released on 2012.

bio:
A combination of female scream, hard riffs and samples created the individual style of Infected Rain. The band was formed in 2008 and made its debut on August 3, 2008, performing in a concert dedicated to Slayer. Following the debut, on August 8, the band performed at the Red Alert metal festival in the Crimea. At the end of the same month Infected Rain recorded the first demo CD, which consisted of three songs: With Me, Parasite and No Idols. The band has appeared at several concerts in Moldova and the Ukraine, including Red Alert in 2008, Metal Heads’ Mission in 2009, RockHausen in 2008 and 2009, as well as in Fuckin’FuckFest 3. Infected Rain took the 1st place at the Big Up! Urban Fest in 2009 and continued the stream of its successful performances at the Forest Kap in 2010 and 2011. In summer of 2009 the band released their EP, which included six songs: Judgemental Trap, Panika, No More, Escape, Go Away and Homeless. The first video of the band for the song Judgemental Trap was shot in winter of the following year, after which Infected Rain performed a number of concerts in Moldova and Romania. November 25, 2011 was marked by the release of the band’s first album, entitled Asylum. After that the band went on a tour in Romania to support the album. In January 2012 the band released its second video for the song At the Bottom of the Bottle and shortly after that performed at the Metal Special Fest as a headliner.

The band consists of five members: two guitars, female vocal, bass and drums, and the combination of all members’ preferences always leaves room for development and creation of a new style.
