ummh.. jeah.. this is what i read on startovarius homepage:

The vocal talents of this sultry Finnish lady vary from raunchy rock to classical operatic. Her voice range is over 3 octaves and she is capable of transforming Stratovarius sound to something unique, something that has never been heard in Metal before.

She is 30 years old and has a background in gymnastics, where she has twice become a Finnish Champion, and in acting.

She has until now been singing in some local bands and has done over 200 gigs.

Drummer for the next album will be Anders Johansson, the brother of Jens Johansson.

After selling over 1 500 000 copies of their previous records, Stratovarius is now ready to take the next step in their career.

The band will enter the studio, a secret place, in May to record 11th studio album, which has a working title "PopKiller".

The album is due February 2005 followed up by massive World Tour.

In legal news, Sanctuary Records is asking Timo Tolkki to pay back 1 Million Euros from the recording agreement advance. Tolkki refuses to pay it, and comments: "They have sent me a notification and are asking me to pay that amount back. Their position is that the agreement was for the old line up. My legal staff doesn´t interpret the agreement this way, and have advised me not to agree to this demand. It means that we might be going to court in Berlin, but I am confident I will win this case and that justice will prevail."

The old line up of Stratovarius are still supposed to play the following festival dates, which were confirmed earlier before the line up change took place:

dont get me wrong, i have nothing against female vocalist, but i'm lil scared that the "original" strato sound will be lost and forgotten....:err:

I love female vocals. Many times power metal vocalists sound a little... 'girly'. I'd love to listen to a woman singing 'kiske' style, if you know what i mean.
So her voice range is over 3 octaves... is it a lot?

AAaaarrrrrrrrrrgggghhhh :bah:  I just KNEW everyone would start bitching now that Strato have a female singer...
That just had to be said and no I'm not sorry.
I'm not even gonna read Blabbermouth cos I know too damn well that there will be plenty of retarded comments :yuk:

I'm really curious. I guess it's an intelligent decission (as long she sounds good), since it had to be someone radically different to avoid comparisons...
This is a bit of a change anyways hehe... This actually means that I'll do give a try to Stratos next album, just to check the new sound. I thought I'd never say that again!

How good is three octaves????

3 octaves is really big, i think mariah carey can do 4, im not sure.

But im interested in the new Strat sound, whatever it will be. IM excited,

BTW, that girl, Miss K.

Shes FUCKING HOT.

did anyone else notice, that on the Official stratovarius site, at the top of the mainpage, there are 2 people standing there, and two others off to the side, well the two others off to the side have question marks (?) on their faces, hahahaha

But he said it was a joke! I don't remember where I read this....
And hey, look at the name of the songs: "And You Hate The World", "I See Black", "Back To Madness" and "PopKiller"...
It can't be serious...:ill:

Hey!!! So now HammerFall doesn't have a drummer?
