Fields of the Nephilim

I have been listening to clips of this band and Virgin Black...and man....do these guys bring their A game...


What genre does the metal community consider these bands...these people are mighty artists

Fields of the Nephilim are gothic rock and they are an amazing band although their output has been pretty inconsistent. Elizium is their masterpiece basically. The Nephilim is also a good album but not nearly as good as Elizium. They were inactive/split up for a long time while Carl was off doing his terrible Zoon project (don't listen to that) and the remaining members formed Rubicon but neither of these projects were anything close to the quality of FotN. Recently Carl recorded a new album under the Fields of the Nephilim name called Mourning Sun which was actually surprisingly good really (I fully expected this to be terrible).
