First monitor speakers, deal

Hi there,

I've been checking out this board for quite a while now, but I rarely post.
Now I'm in need of some infos!
My audioambitions have become serious last year but till today i've only been 'mixing" on my logitec 2.1 set...nuff said.
I am in need of studio monitors

Now I can buy 2 KRK6 monitors + a sub vor 450 euros(say 586 USD) 2nd hand.
He said something about a small behringer mixer to connect it all, he was a dj.turntabler, so I don't know if I'm gonna be needing that.

What do you guys say,
must I buy this because it's better than 'nothing' or should I wait till I can buy better stuff?

hey, thanks for the response.

Atm I'm using my Toneportux2 as soundcard wich is kinda wack to begin with.
While recording etc i only have 1 box functional since thats the best I can make of it connection wise.
This way makes for NO latency tough, so that's great.
When mixing I usually use my onboard soundcard wich causes mega latency but gives me a stereo picture.

If I buy this set... will the behringer be my interface so to speak?

Event Alp 5's are good in the real low end of the budget.

Some love the KRK's others aren't pleased at all. I'm not sure why, but apparently the rockets aren't great.

how do i connect all of this
I got the set now ... I got a behringer xenyx1002 with the set.

Im using a line6Toneportux2 for the mixing/recording bizz.
So now i've got Tonport stereo monitor in > ch1+2 on mixer > main out L R > krk speakers.

now i still haven't connected the Sub.
sub has Left + Right xlr ( in and out ) and balanced jack in and out.
i still have 2 xlr cables left .. how do i do this ?

The sub has the internal crossover I think. So signal chain should be Mixer outs-------- > sub left and right in-------- > Left and right out -------- > Left and right monitor speaker.

got another problem now.
all 3 monitors work but when i pan stuff to the left it disappears.

so this would mean my soundcard (toneport) only sends out the right side?
signal goes from STEREO MONITOR IN to ch1+2 wich are panned 100 left and 100% right.
