First song?

Garden of Gray. And then the rest of the ST in the same sitting. We couldn't get shit for metal albums in my hometown in 1995 so when Nick got a hold of that album he made copies for everyone else.

i almost feel like i missed out though, because it appears that the bulk of the greatest metal albums came out in the mid 90s, or at least late 90s when i was still interested in Limp bizshit

A lot of good albums did come out then. But the scene was so small and independent. No shows unless you lived on the East Coast, hard as shit to get imports. In one sense, those in the scene were so damned dedicated that it was actually really cool, but now at least some of these artists can make a living off their music (let's hope Nevermore can do that someday soon, too).

Either way, better late than never man.
