First time I've tried micing up a kick drum to make my own samples.

So I made a home-made Subkick today to go with the D6 I recently purchased, and I wanted to make some samples, so I thought I'd have a go at micing up my disgusting, old, peavey kick drum (Yeah, Peavey make drum kits :p) that hasn't had the batter head replaced since I bought it (3rd hand) 5 years ago.

I'm poor at the moment, so I don't even have mic stands, just had to stand things about on books and boxes...

Just chucked the sample into a song that I've been working on for a while to see how it sounded. It's a bit too loud at the moment.

It sounds kinda alright-ish, but anyone got any pointers as to what it's lacking? Maybe a little bit too clickly?

Cheeeeers guys!

P.S. Wasn't sure wether or not to post this in the Rate My Mix/Tone section, but I just thought that as I was only really looking for tips on kick drum micing I'd post it here, sorry if this is bad?
