so a friend of mine linked me to these the other day and I'm pretty tempted to buy one. They are ridiculously cheap even for the model that Flea himself tours with. Although I found myself liking the street bass more.(cheapest model) how do you think they stack up to the fender vintage modified J-bass squiers? (that's my other consideration for purchase)

We had one of these come in the guitar shop were I work sometimes. Total junk, dont know which model but still. Id say the Fender Squier vintage mod basses are a sure bet for a cheap price, you have to set them up a bit and you might have to file a gnarly fret end but the quality otherwise is top notch.

Band I recorded a while back brought one in. Wasn't great but then neither was the bass player. Tone was muddy and overly boomy. I wouldn't recomeend one of these

RHCP did a Live to Cinema gig from Germany for the release of the last album that I worked at. I saw all of the kit and there was certianly NO Fleabass' backstage. He still rocks Modulus live. He probably had 6 of them with him.

I also nearly walked straight into Anthony before the show whilst he was warming up in his dressing room, but that's a different story...
