I've read some really good comments on the jazz bass. But does anyone have here experience with the precision squier model ?

Or what would you advise me ?

thanx in advance

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I've heard plenty of those VM Jazz's and they always have sounded great, nice and clanky, and I also love my p-bass (Fender mexican with a duncan pickup)

Jazz is a bit more pointy sounding,, p bass is a bit more thumpy.

I own the Squier vintage modified bass (the exact one you pictured).

The only complaints I have with it are the shoddy fretwork (its not smooth like my other more expensive guitars) and the neck is not that smooth feeling especially if you have sweaty hands due to this really cheap gloss on the back of the neck. Then again, it's only $300, so what can I expect?

Still, it sounds great and while the fretwork isn't the greatest it doesn't make the guitar impossible to play. I've played an American Jazz Bass as well and while the playing quality is much different, the core sound is still there.
