Focusrite saffire pro 26 users

Hey everyone , been using my saffire pro for 3 years now but it went dead on me recently. When I turn it on the green power light goes on and then just goes off. No sound , nothing , not even recognized by the pc.

Has this ever happened to any of you guys.

Have you tried searching Focusrite's answerbase, or contacting them?

Contacted focusrite and they said it was probably a hardware problem and to send it to a tech and have it repaired.

I figured I might as well also ask here , somtimes it can be a very simple inexpensive solution to the problem and by sending it to an authorized focusrite repair I would be charged way too much.

The problem might or might not be a big one, but if you don't know what you're doing it's best not to attempt repairing it yourself.

When I first bought my unit, I thought for a sec it was broken because the power didn't come on immediately... It seems to take a few seconds to power it up and establish connection with the host computer. So I wouldn't be surprised if there were some flaws in the design by that part. Let's hope you'll get yours fixed, and that it won't cost too much.

Check your connections with the firewire and unplug the unit for a couple of minutes from the wall and firewire if checking the connections doesn't work! I've had the same problem and the sentence above solved it! Also it may help to reinstall OS and start clean and leave it unplugged during the process! Hope this helps you, cause that sucks if you have to send it in!

I just checked all the connections, including the firewire ports on both pc and saffire.
Powered it via bus and external power supply.
Tried it in standalone mode.

Nothing worked, going to have to send it for repair.
