I just got the focusrite and I cant seem to get it to work in reaper. I have it set to the focusrite in the preferences in reaper but when ever I arm the track for recording and set record monitoring on I get nothing. I might just be overlooking something but does anyone know whats wrong?

Hi Brender500,

Thanks for your thread.

Are you on a PC or Mac? What operating system are you using? Which version of Reaper are you running?

Have you downloaded the latest driver using administrator rights (PC) from the following website?

http://uk.focusrite.com/usb-audio-interfaces/scarlett-2i2/downloads

Have you tried another cable, instrument, microphone or input? Have you selected the right input in Reaper? Can you see any levels?

Are you connected to a hub at all? If so please remove this and connect the 2i2 directly to a dedicated port using the supplied cable. Eventually try another cable and or port.

Do you use any further devices or software? Make sure to remove/ close all these and use only the minimum required to operate with your controller.

Have you ticked "request sample rate" in the Reaper audio device preferences? If not, please do so.

Don't hesitate to contact me via the following contact form, should you have any further need for support:

^ That. Especially setting the right sample rate and selecting the right input, afaik 1 is default for both inputs in Reaper.

Yup, Input 1 would be default. As long as you go under Preferences -> Devices -> make sure ASIO is selected, as well as your Focusrite unit. Make sure inputs 1-whatever the last input is are selected.

Hit the ARM button on the track, hit the little speaker icon on the track to monitor, and you should be good. As mentioned, check your buffer size as well. Either way, something SHOULD be coming in. Bad connection from unit to computer, maybe? Bad instrument cable?
