Folk-music

My God... Lumsk is some of the coolest music I have heard in a very long time. Echo for me the same thing Nomad said, it's both incredibly cool music, but depressing that I can't find more.



I keep listening to this stuff, and the only other time I've fallen so thoroughly in love with music was with Otyg. Seriously.
 
They only have a promo/demo thingie out,
but I'm going to e-mail them and ask if
there is any way to get hold of it. I did
some searching around you see, and the
sites having made reviews of their demo
wasn't sure if it was for sale or not.... :eek:)

I didn´t go and see Tyr though coz they played at this fancy ball
a venue that sucks for me...

there´s really a hype here about Tyr

Ormurinn langi is the most requested song on radio 2 an icelandic station
 
Hmmm... Can any Norwegians here tell me who Åsmund Fregdegævar was, and what these Lumsk songs are supposed to be about? :)

Åsmund Fregdegjævar is not a real person.
He is made up, and is in lots of different
versions of one story....

I also e-mailed the band, and I am actually
getting a burnt copy of their promo!! :eek:)
The original is sold out, not too hard to
imagine why >:eek:P

I sent the band an e-mail through that website that had the two full songs on it about getting a copy of their demo before I went to bed. If I don't get some kind of answer, could I get a burnt copy of your burnt copy? :lol:

I hope you get a replay as positive as mine,
but we don't want to ruin the poor musicians!
Lol, so if they are not able to send you
anything; sure I'll burn it for you, or just rip
it and send it. Which would be easier....

But I won't do it, if Lumsk say I can't, I gave
them the link to this thread >:eek:P After all, it
is their music, and it is damn good music as
well, so... all my respect :eek:)
 
I offered to buy a copy from them, but even though they were flattered by the offer, I had no luck.

Hmm... i'd hate to see what the price of shipping is from Norway to the US if it's like what I've payed to send CDs and Vinyls to Germany and the UK... *Shudder.* If the band doesn't mind then we can talk about some file-sending later. :)
 
I saw these bands on www.displeasedrecords.nl I haven't heard them but it seems that this is good music. Anyone can tell me more about these bands?? btw you can get here a lot of folk/viking metal!

Am Ganeshan - Beyond the souls
Tibetan folk, like Rajna !

I find some more but I haven't remember all the names. When I have more time I put more bands here. But everybody should check this site out!

I wouldn't compare them to Finntroll, but I will add
that this is one of the best albums I have heard,
ever!! Unfortunatly their album is only available in
Finland, at the moment, and I'm too lazy to send a
money order through mail >:eek:P

Oh, and these Lumsk people, well, at least one of
them, met Vintersorg at the Inferno festival, and
gave him their demo! :eek:) It's strange huh?
Two days later I discover this band myself >:eek:P
