Hey folks,
I dont know if most of you know that follow the reaper was released with 2 different mixes. The origonal release on oct 31, 2000 on spinefarm was actually mixed by Peter Tagtgren himself. It was then re-mastered at Finvoxx for release on nuclear blast. Some vocals were added also (the first scream on the title track).

I am luck that i have a copy of the origonal Tagtgren mix, which is way more in-your-face (guitars up front and keyboards more in the background). I prefer this tagtgren mix to the finvoxx.

Anybody else have this version?
cheers
Eric

I have both of them and I prefer the one by Tägtgren too. The one done by Karmila has its pros aswell, as I find churchbells on Hate Me! extremely retarded. Interesting thread by the way. I heard the Karmila mix first and when I later got my hands on the 1st mix, the scream in the beginning of FTR scared the shit out of me :)

Here are the differences between the mixes :

i sure got the first mix..
but this guy called karmila is listed in the booklet

News to me. You think you can tell me where I can find original? I had to look in a vintage/rare shop to get all the COB albums to begin with. And is it pricey?

The NB mix should be the most common one in Europe. And yeah, the one on the NB shop should be the 1st mix. It should be easy to find on eBay too.. and www.theendrecords.com seems to have the NB version (w/ Hellion as bonustrack) aswell.

..err i don't know which mix i got..
the guy is listed in the booklet.but the things which should belong to the first mix can be also heard on my cd...weird..

and the cd going with hellion is the secound mix?

You can easily find out what mix you have when you check the song Follow The Reaper for the scream at 0:37.

yeah.. he screams..
but i got this strange churchbells on hate me..

I got the screamer at about 0:39 to be more precise... does this mean I have the Tagtring version or the Karmila version?

Some years ago I asked Janne in the ask Janne thread about the FTR mix thingies and he said something like "there aren't different mixes of the album".

In fact the song Hate me has not 2 different mixes, they are two completely different recorded version ( voice, guitars, solo and so on)

the question is if the entire FtR album has been recorded twice:o

Don't confuse people here even more. You mean the version of Hate Me! which is on the single and this was recorded at Astia studios. But that was the only song recorded twice.

The FTR album wasn't recorded twice, only mixed a second time but it seems that some band members don't even know about it or don't fucking care.
